What Wrestling Program Head Bobby Eggleston says about Brighton Huynh: "Brighton is a solid wrestler who competes at the 113 or 120 lb weight class for the Kinkaid wrestling team. Brighton brings a great work ethic to our practices, and competes to the best of his ability. When Brighton first started wrestling, we did not know if he would ever be able to score points for us in middle school, much less high school. Brighton continued to show up every day, worked out in the weight room, and has blossomed into one of our mainstays in the wrestling program. He finished in third place at SPC last year, and won the 113 lb category at the Doc Hess Tournament, which is a remarkable accomplishment. He currently has an 8-7 record, and we look for him to do well at the State Prep Tournament and this year's SPC tournament."

Shift in Athletic Training Department
After six years as Head Athletic Trainer, Jimmy “JJ” Roton has decided to take a new position and will be leaving Kinkaid. Citing a new opportunity that is “best for his career”, Roton will be leaving at the end of July.
Athletic Director Bob Beeman referred to Roton as “the best Athletic Trainer I have worked with in over 30 years”. Beeman went on to say, “We are sorry to see JJ move on…he will be missed both as an employee and a colleague, but we understand that his new post is a special opportunity that he is very excited about. I am appreciative for all JJ has done to structure our athletic training processes and am grateful that he will stay on through July to help with the transition of the new staff.”
Kinkaid is in the process of launching a national search to hire a full time Head Athletic Trainer and a full time Assistant Athletic Trainer. The goal is to have both individuals in house no later than July 1st.
Louise Stephens to Play Soccer at Rice University
Louise Stephens '16 signed her National Letter of Intent (NLI) to play soccer for Rice University on February 3, 2016. Stephens is the Girls Varsity Soccer team captain and plays center midfielder. As the Falcons approach the end of the regulation season, Stephens has five assists and nine goals so far. According to Girls Soccer Program Head James Jordan, "Louise is a once-in-a-generation soccer player. She is an exceptionally talented soccer player, yet she remains the defiinition of humble. Louise is dead serious about winning, yet she finds ways to keep us all laughing with humorous comments and/or the spontaneous dancing." When asked about her specific soccer skills, Jordan says "Louise is an amazing box-to-box, goal-scoring midfielder, yet she accepted without question playing aas a defender earlier this season. She is a warrior who never backs down from a challenge in games or practices, and she is also one of the kindest young ladies I have ever met off the field. In addition to her many tackles, assists and goals on the field, it is Louise's character, dedication, and inspirational commitment to her teammates and school that will be most sorely missed next year." Congratulations, Louise!
