Junior Kara Hachigian's equestrian accomplishments and charitable contributions was recently highlighted in the Houston Chronicle. In August, she won the Reserve World Champion title for her age group in the three-gaited competition at the World's Championship Horse Show in Louisville, Ky. Each time she competes, Hachigian earns pledges for the Ribbons of Service program of the United Professional Horsemen's Association. In two years, she's generated more than $41,000 of the effort's $229,000 total. In the past six months alone, she's placed in four major competitions, all while raising more money for St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital than any of her challengers.
