Sophia Solé will be attending Stanford University where she will be one of 6 freshman on the Varsity Co-ed Sailing Team. She is a member of the Texas Corinthian Yacht Club and sails with the Gulf Coast Youth Sailing Association. She sails the Laser and also crews for her sister, AnaClare in the i420 (pictured here).
For the past two summers, Sophia and AnaClare have competed in the i420 World Championships in Karatsu, Japan and San Remo, Italy with top finishes for the US women team. This summer Sophia plans to compete in Laser Under-21 Worlds in Nieuwpoort, Belgium. Sophia was captain of the varsity girls cross country team at Kinkaid for the past two years and believes that in both sports focus and discipline are vital to success.
